Start Up Idea : Harvester for Extreme Events App


An app which by retrieving the local weather information can predict the potential of the area for harvesting specific crops.

The app can be connected to automatic weather monitoring systems for real-time retrieval of data. The parameters that will be monitored :

1)Temperature
2)Rainfall
3)Humidity
4)Soil Moisture

Among all these parameters Soil Moisture is the only parameter that needs to be monitored in real-time by an optical sensor connected to the App.

After a prediction is made based on the weather values, the same is compared with a threshold value which is predefined. 

The owner of the app can take a subscription fee or per-service fee against receiving the required data from the map.

Area of Application/Consumers: Cultivators, Urban Farmers

New Research Idea :  Selection of Compensatory Action for Renovation of Sacred Water bodies by Analytical Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Logic.(Water bodies near a sacred place is referred as Sacred Water-body).   Tools Used : AHP,Fuzzy Logic   Goal : To select a mitigation strategy for renovation of a sacred water-body   Usefulness/Justification :  The sacred water bodies are used mainly for disposal of various biological wastes generated from a sacred place. Also Many people take bath into the water body. That is why high BOD and COD in such water bodies often degrades quality of the water. Thus various mitigation strategies can be devised to restore the same. Now the strategies must be effective but not expensive.
